If you’ve followed my blog long, then you probably know that my daughter loves American Girl. She’s got several dolls, matching outfits and books that she has collected over the years. It’s really pretty sweet to see how crazy she goes over American Girl. But it’s not just the look and style of the dolls that she loves, it’s the amazing stories that each and every American Girl doll carries. One of the American Girl doll lines that both my daughter and I absolutely love is the BeForever dolls. Each of these dolls is from a different era of time and has a unique back story that teaches your child about American History. American Girl recently sent Aubrey, Melody Ellison the newest American Girl Doll to review.
American Girl Melody Ellison
Melody Ellison is American Girl’s latest BeForever doll. Melody has a very brave back story. She’s a 9 year old girl growing up in Detroit, Michigan during the civil rights movement of the 1960’s. Melody bravely lifts her voice for equality and helps bring this significant time in America’s history to life for girls today. I really love this doll and think she is a great inspiration for young girls everywhere. As you can see from the photo above, Aubrey is just crazy about Melody Ellison.
American Girl went into great detail when they researched this era to make sure that they got everything correct in terms of style, etc. with Melody Ellison. They did a fantastic job and you can really tell whenever you look at this doll.
Also included with Melody is her book which goes into more detail about her character. Aubrey has just started on the book but I can tell that it won’t take her long to get through it. The book tells about Melody and how she is excited and proud to share with her family that she’s been chosen to sing a solo for Youth Day at her church. She’s not sure which song to choose so she gets advice from people such as her big brother, her older sister, and from the inspirational words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. All these things together help Melody pick the perfect song.
When will Melody Be Released
Melody Ellison will officially be released to the public on Thursday August 25th, 2016. You will find her in American Girl retail stores around the country. And starting August 20th, fans will be able to watch the Lift Your Voice Video starring Melody at www.americangirl.com/
Free Melody-inspired events
Starting on August 26, American Girl retail stores will be hosting FREE Melody inspired events geared for girls ages 8 and up. These events will include a free craft, 1960’s music, food and a free American girl gift! You can learn more about this free American Girl event at www.americangirl.com/retail.
