So I finally announced that we will be heading to Walt Disney World in September. We are taking advantage of the Free Dining Plan during our trip and have started to make reservations for different restaurants. However I find myself looking over the site going back and forth to try and find the best places to eat at Disney World. I have a few favorite places that we will definitely be visiting again but I really want to try new places as well. Here are some of the restaurants we ate at a few years ago.

Disney

Best Places To Eat At Walt Disney World

Liberty Tree Tavern: This was the very first place we ate and it was so good. It is located at the Magic Kingdom and serves a family style thanksgiving dinner buffet. This is also a character dinner where you will be greeted by Chip and Dale, Goofy and Minnie. We loved this place and the food was delicious. We will be visiting here again on our upcoming trip.

sci-fi dine-in Disney, Walt Disney World Restaurants

Sci-Fi Diner: Located in Hollywood Studio’s and is truly a unique experience. Your seated in cars that are tables and you are able to watch older type movies on the huge movie screen ahead of you. The food was pretty good and this is a place that my son, who was 3 at the time, still talks about.

Via Napoli: A very upscale Italian restaurant. Although the food was pretty good, we felt a little undressed after walking around the parks all day. This was more of a restaurant for a couple wanting a nice meal together.

Hollywood and Vine: We choose this restaurant as part of the Fantasmic! Dining Package. This was an all you can eat buffet and you definitely get your money’s worth. All of the food was really good and their was also a variety of things to choose from.

Grand Gathering Experience: Illuminations Dinner and Dessert Reception Since we had more than 8 people traveling with us the last time we were able to do a grand gathering experience in Epcot. It was a lot of fun but cost us 2 dining credits which in my opinion wasn’t worth it.

Walt Disney World Chef Mickeys

Chef Mickey’s: An absolute must if have kids! We loved this place so much that this was on the top of our list for dinner reservations. This restaurant is located at The Contemporary Hotel and is a buffet. When I say buffet I mean more food than you could ever imagine, especially the dessert bar that has so many choices. Some of the characters at this dinner include Mickey, Donald and Minnie.

Crystal Palace Disney World: The Crystal Palace is an all you can eat buffet/family style character meal featuring the characters of Winnie The Pooh and friends. It’s located inside The Magic Kingdom on Mainstreet USA, which is very close to the entrance of the park. Prices range from $15-$29.99 for breakfast and $30-$59.99 for dinner/lunch. It’s very good!

We also ate at Planet Hollywood while we were shopping at Downtown Disney. We received a coupon upon check-in and ended up using it for a  pretty cheap dinner. We plan on taking advantage of this coupon again this time around.

Be our Guest

UPDATE:
Since our last visit we have eaten at both Cinderella’s Caste and the new Be Our Guest Restaurant. We made reservations for Cinderella’s castle but were unable to get reservations for Be Our Guest so we ate there during lunch. You don’t have to have reservations for lunch but keep in mind the lines will probably be long during peak times. Both places are AMAZING and I highly recommend visiting if your able to during your trip.
