One of the best parts about Disney World is the food. There are so many different types of food throughout the parks and resorts that you could eat something different every time you visit. I really enjoy trying out new things and I can’t think of a better place to do this than at Disney World. I have eaten authentic foods from Mexico, Italy and most recently East African style food at Sanna during the Monkey Kingdom Event.

Sanaa is located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort. This is a sit-down style restaurant which offers African style food with a authentic Indian flavors. The restaurant is gorgeous. Like most everything on Disney property, it’s a magical experience when you walk through the doors. It’s almost as if you are transported to a different world with African flair, exotic animals and lot’s of delicious food to go around.

The start of your meal comes with Indian bread with an assortment of dipping sauces. These sauces range in flavor from sweet to spicy and a few things in between. I recommend trying all of them at least once and mixing and matching the flavors.

Sanna also has a wide variety of salads to chose from. These aren’t your typical iceberg lettuce salads, but African inspired salads.

Next up is the main course. You can choose options such as tender beef short ribs or spicy Durban shrimp. There is also a Sanaa vegetarian sampler for those who don’t wish to eat meat. We enjoyed a sampler platter which included a buttered chicken, shrimp and some of the best rice I’ve ever tasted. I am not usually a fan of curry but the buttered chicken was really good. I even mixed up some of the sauce with my rice which really added some flavor. And if your kids are like mine, and not too adventurous when it comes to food. Don’t worry. Sanna has lot’s of  kid-friendly options like beef burgers, pizza and grilled chicken.

You will want to save room for dessert while dining at Sanna. There dessert is out of this world good.

If you are looking for a authentic place to eat at Disney World then I would definitely recommend you check out Sanaa. It’s a really fun place to eat the food is really good too. Tip: Be sure to ask for a table next to the window area. This way you can watch the animals roam the savanna while dining on your feast.
