Disney World is a fantastic place to take your kids. But have you ever thought about doing Disney alone, without them. I have been to Disney several times over the past few years, but it’s always been with my kiddos. However last week during the Monkey Kingdom Event, I got my first taste of the “adult side” of the parks and it was a whole new experience.

Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

If you have been to Epcot, then you know that it is an amazing place. There is so much to do and see everyday of the year. But between the dates of March 04 – May 17, 2015 there is an extra special event that takes place. During this time Epcot is transformed into floral wonderland. That special event is the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. The festival itself is free with your paid admission to Epcot.

Epcot Flower and Garden Festival Review

Throughout Epcot you will come across beautiful Topiary Displays & Gardens. Many of these displays are designed and trimmed to look like popular Disney Characters. Every time I would come across one of these gardens, I would be just in awe of how beautiful and realistic they were. Some of my favorites included

Woody From Toy Story

But these are just a few of the gorgeous topiary’s. The designers did an amazing job at making sure the detail of these characters were spot on. Even though they were made up of plants, they looked so realistic.

Plenty of Food To Eat

There is definitely no shortage of food at Epcot. In fact one of my favorite parts about this park is eating your way through the countries. I always like to sample something from each location. During the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival there are outdoor kitchens set up in addition to the regular food. There is lot’s of great selections where you will find fresh flavors and seasonal dishes at each stop. There are 12 outdoor kitchens setup throughout Epcot.

Special Themed Playgrounds For Kids

And if you decide to to visit the festival with your kids then there is plenty for them to do as well. Epcot has set up special themed playgrounds throughout Epcot. This playgrounds are only up and available during the Flower and Garden Festival, so it makes them extra special. You will find themed parks like the Cars playground and even a Monster’s INC. playground. They are super cute and lot’s of fun for kids.

 Garden Rocks Concert Series

The Garden Rocks Concert Series is a special concert series that takes place on certain days throughout the Flower and Garden Festival. I remember a few years ago seeing Nelson and my sister and I were in 80’s heaven. This year I was excited again when I walked by the stage and heard Jon Secada singing. This is a free concert which is included in your park admissions ticket. You can find out the dates, times and who is playing by visiting Disney online.

We had such a great time visiting the Epcot Garden and Flower Festival during the Monkey Kingdom Event. I would highly recommend visiting during this festival. Not only is is beautiful to look at, but you can learn a lot about flowers and gardening too.
