This rainbow slime is probably my favorite batch of homemade slime so far. It turned out SUPER colorful and the kids had a blast playing with it.

Slime Without Borax

Liquid StarchLiquid StarchMOM TIP: This slime or any other slime can easily be made without Borax. All you need is LIQUID STARCH and glue. It’s easy-peasy. Just mix about 1 tsp of liquid starch into 4 ounces of glue. Mix the liquid starch into the glue until you get the consistency of slime that you want. Then dye the slime any color you like.

I’ll be honest though. Liquid Starch can be really hard to find in stores. You can pick up an inexpensive container of liquid starch here (the same kind I use).

Glue is becoming IMPOSSIBLE to find in stores. Trust me! I found this gallon of Elmer’s white glue for super cheap on Amazon. Right now they are in stock but they sell out quick so make sure to stock up.

Rainbow Slime

I mentioned above that this was one of my favorite slime recipes. I love all the vibrant colors and there is just something very satisfying for kids to combine all the colors and see what happens. This particular rainbow slime recipe has 5 different colors: Red, blue, purple, gold, and green.

First your going to make 1 large batch of slime using 1 5 ounce bottle of clear glue. Add in 1/2 cup water and stir. Separate this into 5 smaller batches. I like to use disposable cups which makes clean up a breeze. In each cup add in your glitter and food coloring. Make sure you do 5 different colors. Add in the liquid starch a little bit at at time until it gets to a slime consistency. Knead it for a couple of minutes. If it’s too sticky add a little more liquid starch.

You can play with the colors separately or add them together like we did. We made a pretty slime rainbow first and then mixed all the colors together.

Kids Love this Rainbow Slime

Glitter slime is always fun to play with but when it’s a rainbow it just becomes a whole lot funner. This slime would be great for St. Patrick’s Day, rainbow themed parties or just because.

How to Store Homemade Slime

You can easily store homemade slime for up to 2 weeks. Place your homemade slime in either a plastic container or ziplock baggie. Make sure that when your child plays with the slime that their hands are clean. Otherwise your slime will get dirty and it won’t be any good.
