*Thank you to Disney and Marvel who provided my travel and accommodations while attending the #IronMan3Event. All opinions expressed are my own.
There are movies that are good and then there are movies that are GREAT! Every now and then a movie comes out that just blows all the others away and the new Iron Man 3 is definitely one of those movies. Iron Man 3 hit’s theaters, today, May 3rd and I can assure you that you don’t want to miss it. Last week I was able to see Iron Man 3 at the Red Carpet Hollywood Premiere and let’s just say so far it’s my favorite Iron Man movie yet! It has all of the elements of a great movie including action, adventure, love, humor, suspense and more! I will try my best not to spoil anything from the movie but I would love to tell you my thoughts on what are some of my favorite parts.
The movie starts off in an interesting and unexpected way with Tony Stark ringing in the New Year of 2000. It’s not only a humorous scene but it brings everything that is about to happen for the next two hours full circle. After this flashback the movie picks up where The Avengers left off. Tony is experiencing some anxiety and he seems to be struggling with this new role of Super Hero while being in a serious relationship with Pepper Potts. Pepper Potts, played by Gwyneth Paltrow has grown so much from the first movie. In the first Iron Man she was Toni Stark’s assistant and now she is the CEO of Stark enterprises not to mention his love interest.
If you’ve ever seen Iron Man then you know that Tony Stark has a bit of an Ego which really comes back to bite him in the butt in Iron Man 3. After challenging an enemy he gets something in return that he wasn’t expecting and ends up in the middle of nowhere. During this part of the movie you will get a chance to meet Harley played by Ty Simpkins. Harley and Tony spark up a friendship and it really brings a great element to this movie that you haven’t seen in the other Iron Man movies.
One very surprising aspect of the movie that I LOVED was the role of Sir Ben Kingsley. I can’t go into much detail because I definitely don’t want to spoil this part of the movie but he did a fantastic job and went from a character that was really creepy and scary to someone who you couldn’t stop laughing at. There I have said to much already but I really loved him in this movie!
So should you take your child to see Iron Man 3?
Let me first start off my saying Iron Man 3 is rated PG-13 for violence and language so as a parent you will need to make the decision of whether or not this movie is appropriate for your children. There isn’t anything really gory but it is an action movie so you can expect to see some fighting, guns blazing and all the other excitement in a super hero movie. My son, Jeremy is almost nine and he will be going with me and my husband to see this movie opening weekend. After seeing the movie I knew right away he would love it and I think he’s the perfect age for Iron Man 3.
