*I received free passes to visit the park. All opinions expressed are my own.
Being a parent is bittersweet. It’s one of life’s greatest pleasures to watch your kids grow and experience the happy memories of childhood. On the other hand you know just how fast that childhood can go, so it’s been my mission to try and experience as many of those memories as I can. This past week I did just that when my daughter and I drove down to Texas with my Six Flags tickets in hand and visited one of my favorite theme parks. You may remember that we visited Six Flags Over Texas this past March and it was incredible, but this visit was a little bit different because we spent a good majority of our time in the new Bugs Bunny BoomTown.
Bugs Bunny BoomTown is a special children’s area in Six Flags which was just recently expanded. It features 10 rides, 5 which are new, restrooms, attractions and plenty of room for resting. It’s perfect for those kids who want to ride the rides but they aren’t quite ready for The Texas Giant yet.
The Boomtown Rides Include:
Caddo Lake Barge
Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters
Looney Tunes Adventure Camp
Marvin the Martian Space Rockets
Speedy Gonzales’ Truckin’ Across America
Sylvester & Tweety’s State Ferris Wheel
Taz Tornado Swings
Taz’s New York Adventure
Wile E. Coyote’s Grand Canyon Blaster
Yosemite Sam’s Texas Tea Cup
These rides are all so much fun and have the thrill and excitement that younger kids will love. In fact even as an adult I had a great time riding them with my kids.
Theme Parks can be exhausting for a mom! I can remember going from open to close when I was a kid but not that I am in my thirties as much as I want to keep going all day my body won’t let me. The one feature of Boomtown which I am so incredibly thankful for as a parent is the rest areas. There is plenty of room to sit back and relax while your kids enjoy the park. Seats are set up in front of each of the rides and attractions so you will never have to take your eyes off of your kids and they can continue to create those special memories.
Boomtown also has a place for nursing moms in the air conditioned restroom. There is a special corner space with two walls and a rocking chair so you can relax in the cool air while you nurse your baby. Six Flags really hit this one out of the park because mom’s want to be able to enjoy being at the park as much as the kids but if you have a fussy, hot and hungry baby it’s just going to make everyone miserable. Two Thumbs up Six Flags!!!
I also want to mention that Texas can get HOT in the summer. In fact it was around 100 degrees the day we visited, but don’t worry Six Flags has you covered in that department as well. To help you cool off there are misters and fans around every corner and you can even ask for a glass of Free Ice Water at the food stands. These are the types of features that help make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
I was really impressed with the entire staff and crew at Six Flags Over Texas. They were all friendly, helpful and made the overall experience an unforgettable one. It’s definitely a place that you want to visit and create those priceless childhood memories.
