When I found out that we would be going Texas over Spring Break there was one place that popped in my head, Six Flags Over Texas. It has been years since I have visited the park so when I heard that they would be open during the time we were in town, I knew this was one place we had to visit. My family has never been to Six Flags , so this was a real treat to get to share this experience with them.
Six Flags Over Texas has changed so much since the time I last visited. There still have several rides like The Texas Giant that I can remember riding as a kid but they have added even more thrilling rides over the years. There is something for everyone and every age at Six Flags.
Let’s talk THRILL rides! Six Flags Over Texas definitely has it’s share of some of the countries best thrill rides. If you love to get your adrenaline pumping then you are in the right place. We didn’t get a chance to ride everything but here are a few of my favorite’s.
The New Texas Giant: One of my favorite roller coasters EVER! Since last summer Six Flags has added seat belts and newly-redesigned lap bars. If you don’t like heights than this coaster is not for you.
Titan: This was the first time I have ever rode on this coaster. At first glance, it is a bit intimidating and I am going to be honest…I was scared! But I am not about to pass up a roller coaster so my husband and I hopped on board and never looked back. The Titan is probably the fastest and highest coaster I have ever rode on. I give it 2 thumbs up!
Pandemonium: This ride doesn’t look like it’s that scary but I assure you, it packs a mean punch. I think the combination of the spinning while going down hills at a high speed makes it stand out. My daughter Aubrey is quite the daredevil and this was her very first “big” roller coaster. She was a bit nervous but was laughing the entire time. One of my favorites at Six Flags for sure.
Runaway Mine Train: This roller coaster has a few surprises along the way! It’s not as big as the other coasters but it’s a great ride to go on as a family.
Chaparral Antique Cars: These classic cars have been at Six Flags for many years! In fact I can remember driving them myself before I even and a drivers license. My kids both had a kick out of these cars and probably would have rode this ride over and over again.
These are just a few of the MANY rides at Six Flags Over Texas. For a full list you can visit Six Flags online.
A lot of times when you think of theme park food, the same things come to mind. But Six Flags has so much variety when it comes to food. Not only will you find familiar favorites such as corn dogs but you will also see popular restaurant chains such as Johnny Rockets and Panda Express. We stopped at a few places to eat and the food was amazing. I was really impressed with the quality especially being at a theme park. There is also lot’s of opportunities to feed your sweet tooth along the way as well. If you decide to bring your lunch there is a beautiful picnic area just a short walk from the entrance of the park. This would be great for larger groups or families wanting to save a few bucks.
We had such a great time at Six Flags Over Texas and are already planning a trip back in the summer. There are lot’s of shows and other special events happening this summer so it’s a great time to visit.
