This rainbow slime is probably my favorite batch of homemade slime so far. It turned out SUPER colorful and the kids had a blast playing with it.
Make Easy Slime without Borax
Liquid StarchSLIME TIP: This slime or any other slime can easily be made without Borax. All you need is liquid starch and glue. In my opinion, this is the easiest way to make slime. To make slime without borax just mix about 1/2 cup of warm water into 1/2 cup of glue and stir. Next add in about 1/2 cup of liquid starch, little by little, into the glue until you get the consistency of slime that you want. Make sure you pour it in a little at a time or you’ll get a big mess.
Liquid starch can be a pain to find in stores that’s why I pick up pick up an inexpensive container of liquid starch like this. This is the same kind I use. I also like to purchase my glue in a big container like the one below. It’s so much cheaper that way. Plus slime has become a big thing these days and small bottles of glue are selling out in stores.
I mentioned above that this was one of my favorite slime recipes. I love all the vibrant colors and there is just something very satisfying for kids to combine all the colors and see what happens. This particular rainbow slime recipe has 5 different colors: Red, blue, purple, gold, and green.
Make Homemade Slime Recipe
First your going to make 1 large batch of slime using 1 5 ounce bottle of clear glue. Add in 1/2 cup water and stir. Separate this into 5 smaller batches. I like to use disposable cups which makes clean up a breeze. In each cup add in your glitter and food coloring. Make sure you do 5 different colors. Add in the liquid starch a little bit at at time until it gets to a slime consistency. Knead it for a couple of minutes. If it’s too sticky add a little more liquid starch.
You can play with the colors separately or add them together like we did. We made a pretty slime rainbow first and then mixed all the colors together.
Kids Love this Rainbow Slime
Glitter slime is always fun to play with but when it’s a rainbow it just becomes a whole lot funner. This slime would be great for St. Patrick’s Day, rainbow themed parties or just because.
How to Store Homemade Slime
You can easily store homemade slime for up to 2 weeks. Place your homemade slime in either a plastic container or ziplock baggie. Make sure that when your child plays with the slime that their hands are clean. Otherwise your slime will get dirty and it won’t be any good.
