When I turned 30 last year I started thinking about all the things that I wanted to do before I got to old or “kicked the bucket”, so I started on my bucket list. One of these things just so happened to be ziplining and I got the chance to mark this amazing adventure off of my list last week at Adventures Unlimited in Milton, Florida.
I knew Ziplining was on the agenda for Bloggers Gone Coastal and I had been very excited about being able to experience this type of adventure with my fellow blogging friends. However as soon as we got to Adventures Unlimited I start getting very nervous. Upon arrival the staff were amazing and explained everything in detail about what we would be doing for the day. The set up all of our equipment and walked everyone through how to put it on. Our team was split into 4 different groups with each group having 8 people. Our zipping guides were Dave and Brooke who were absolutely incredible. All the fears and anxiety that I had when I arrived quickly disappeared as I felt completely comfortable and safe following the lead and instruction of our guides.
The ziplining course was absolutely incredible, not only for the extreme heights and speed but the scenery was so beautiful. We were zipping over gorgeous flowers and trees and also over other adventures below tubing down the river. One of the scariest ziplines but also my favorite was the 900ft zipline that took you over the river going up to 35 miles per hour. There is no words to describe how fun this experience was. Had the walk up the stairs not been so long I think I could have kept going on the zipline over and over again.
After about 2 hours of zipping, we walked back to the main office area were we were provided a delicious lunch. It’s amazing how hungry you are after ziplining but let me tell you, it sure can work up an appetite. After about 45 minutes of relaxing, eating and catching up with the other groups we all headed off to go on a 3.5 hour tubing trip. The weather was perfect and we all couldn’t wait to get into the ice cold water. The river has a small current but enough to float you comfortably through the entire river without you having to do much work. The tubing trip was really one of my favorite aspects of Brandcation because I got to talk with so many of the other women as I floated next to them. The end of the float trip lands right back at the main point of Adventures Unlimited so there wasn’t much walking at all. After we got out of the river we all got dressed in the dressing rooms and headed back to Pensacola.
I can’t say enough how incredibly amazing the entire staff at Adventures Unlimited is. They take pride in their property and want people to have a great experience while they are visiting and I think that is why so many people from all of the US keep coming back. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend you check them out, you will not be disappointed and it will be an experience that you won’t ever forget. Thank you so much Dave and Brooke for being amazing guides and helping me feel so comfortable even when I’m so high in the air! Also a big thanks goes out to Blondie at The Blonde Critic for taking pictures of me so that I could prove to everyone I didn’t chicken out.
