I just love this time of year, when the flowers are starting to bloom the weather is starting to warm up and we are finally able to enjoy outside. Every year for Easter we participate in all of the festivities and we are especially looking forward to the big Easter egg hunt this year with our family and friends. I normally try and bring a kid-friendly dessert each year and what better dessert for adults and kids but cupcakes. I absolutely love Wilton not only for their excellent products that can make an ordinary person in to an extraordinary baker, but also for their great recipes, tips and endless ideas when it comes to baking.
Wilton recently sent me an assortment of their Easter Baking products and boy did our family have a great time making some really fun cupcakes. We decided to use a carrot cake mix for the cupcakes and used our Springtime Cupcake Pan. It was super easy to use, I just sprayed the pan with a little bit of cooking spray and filled the cupcakes up to the top of the line.
These are adorable to use not only for Easter but all year long. We cooked the cupcakes at 325 degrees for about 15-16 minutes and then let them cool before starting the really fun part..Decorating! The cupcakes came out perfect and slipped right out of the pan fully intact. Next time I think I will fill the cups up just a little bit more to make the flower cupcakes bigger.
Wilton has so many terrific products especially when it comes to decorating. I sat everything on the table including the icing, food coloring, sprinkles, icing decorations and fun pix and let the kids go cupcake crazy.
It was fun to see how many different colors of flowers the kids could come up with.
Of course I had a lot of fun decorating the cupcakes as well and with all the festive Wilton Easter Cupcake accessories it made my plain cupcake into an adorable Easter basket. I used the Colorful Basket Cupcake Wraps around my cupcakes and then I sprinkled the top of the iced cupcake with the green sprinkles from the Easter Sprinkle Set to have that grass look.
I then placed a bunny tail fun pix into the side and placed one of the Nest with Jelly Beans Royal Icing Decorations. The bunny tail is adorable and has a cute little fuzzy tail on the back. The kids went crazy over the nest eggs and we will definitely be getting more of these before Easter. There are so many ways you can really get creative with these helpful decorations.
The above pictures are a few of the cupcakes that Jeremy decorated all by himself. I have to say I was really impressed at how good of a job he did. We always have a great time together in the kitchen and it’s memories like these that I will treasure for ever. After we decorated our cupcakes we decided to load a few of them up in the Hop N’ Tweet Medium Treat Boxes and took a few of them over to grandma and grandpa. The kids loved being able to hand deliver some of the goodies they had made.
We also received the Hop N’ Tweet Doilies which are great for those Easter gatherings. These are perfect for serving your cupcakes, cookies or just as a decoration. We had a blast making all of our treats today and can’t wait to make our next batch of springtime cupcakes. Wilton always makes baking so much fun at with such great prices you can afford to get creative.
