What Is Beautiful Hair and The Lessons I am Teaching My Daughter Cheerleaders Hair Bows

This post is sponsored. All opinions expressed are my own.

What is Beautiful Hair? Some people may think that beautiful hair is long and thick, others may think it’s short and then. But when you really think about it, all hair is beautiful. No matter what color, what style or what texture. But I didn’t always see it that way, especially with myself. Growing up, I had a love/hate relationship with my hair. I loved the fact that it was long, thick and I could style it so many different ways. However, all of those things I also came to hate as I got older. Having thick hair can be a blessing and a curse. It can take up to 2 hours to fix my hair depending on whether I am curling it or even straightening it. I used to think that I had no other choice. I couldn’t just wear it natural because it was “poofy”. Now that I am older I see how lucky I’m to have the hair that I do and I embrace it. I want my daughter to always feel confident wearing her hair anyway she chooses.

you are beautiful daughter

I know that I am not alone in my feelings of insecurity with my hair. In fact, 8 out of every 10 women feel the pressure to wear their hair a certain way. These feelings often hit at an early age, especially now days. Girls are taught at an early age what is beautiful and what is not. Even if the things they are taught are completely wrong. These feelings will stick with them into their adulthood. This is where us mom’s step in!

Girls learn how to take care of themselves from their moms. Whether it’s how to put on makeup, dress up and even fix their hair. They are watching our every move. So this is our chance to show them how to look in the mirror and love everything about ourselves including bedhead!

Mom With Her Little Girl

My beautiful daughter is almost 9 years old and having her is one of the best things I have ever done. Everyday I look at her, it’s like I get to look at this masterpiece that I created. It’s an incredible feeling and I want her to know each and everyday that I feel that way about her. I want her to know that I love her beautiful golden hair! I love the way she wears it a hundred different ways and feels like a million bucks no matter what it looks like.

My Beautiful Hair And

Dove Hair wants to help all girls feel this way! They recently launched a fantastic campaign to help empower moms and give them a way to help build confidence by teaching them what is beautiful hair and how to love their hair.  With this campaign they launched a really fun photo message tool which you can personalize with a picture of your daughter and a little note telling her what you love about her hair. I made one for Aubrey and it includes our selfie (pictured above). You can see the animated photo below. After your done editing your photo you can then share it with all your friends and family, including your daughter, by sharing it on social media. You can create your picture at LoveYourHair.Dove.Com.
