If there is one thing I know for sure it’s that most little girls love mermaids and Aubrey is no exception. She was so excited last week when she was introduced to Waverly and the Magic Seashells playset and dolls. With so many different toys on the market it’s become harder and harder to impress me, but as we open the box up and started playing with the mermaids, seashells and pearls I knew this toy was going to be a hit.
Waverly and the Magic Seashells is an enchanting new small doll that combines the fun of collecting seashells with the magical world of mermaids. The playsets are intended for children ages 4 and up and I would imagine that this is because there are small parts. What I love most about this playset is that you can add to it as you go. Alot of times kids get board very quickly with a toy but if you can add “surprises” like with the Magic Seashell playset I think it makes a toy last much longer. The Magic Seashell Playset is the center piece of this magical world. It includes the seashell which opens up to reveal Waverly’s home, complete with her bed, a swing and the magic pearl reader. The magic pearl reader is one of Aubrey’s favorite features because it can be used to unlock the secrets hidden in each pearl found in the different playsets. There are over 50 secrets that reveal different lights, sounds and spoken secrets from Waverly and her friends. 
To add to this magical world are different mermaid dolls and pearl seashells. The seashells are all different so they are fun to collect but that’s just the beginning. Each shell contains a hidden suprise inside. The shells are shaped to look just like real seashells and come with a special pearl that unlocks unique secrets in the Magic Seashell Playet. The shells also have an adorable mini-pet that protects the pearl. Aubrey got a small colorful fish pet and she just loves him.
These is a great playset especially for little girls. Aubrey loved all aspects of the Magic Seashell playset but especially liked that she could change the pearls out and it would light up and sing. I am already planning on adding a few extra shells and mermaids to the set for Christmas gifts. The set is pretty inexpensive and runs around $24.99. The additional mermaid dolls are extra and each package is around $7.99 and the seashells are $4.99. All of these toys are available to purchase at Target, Toys R Us and Kmart.
