Since my mom has never owned a smartphone I wanted to make sure I set everything up for her. The phone number, the Wifi, and the unlimited plan. Actually Walmart did pretty much everything for me other than wrapping up the phone and giving it to my mom. Once my mom received the gift she was so excited. The first thing she wanted to do was make a phone call! Here’s a video of the gift reveal and her reaction to receiving her very first smartphone.
I went over all the basics of the phone with my mom and showed her how to use it. She was a really quick learner and it didn’t take her long to catch on. You know after being taught so many things from my mom like how to cook, how to drive, etc. It was kinda nice to be able to teach her how to do something.
It’s been almost a week since I gave my mom her new phone for Christmas. She is loving the phone and that couldn’t make me happier. She’s been able to connect with her grandkids in Texas by Skyping with them. This is something she’s never done on her own before. I’ve also notice her being more active on Facebook because she can use the Facebook app whenever she’s on the go. She’s also learned how to use Pandora which allows her to listen to all the Christmas music her little heart desires.
