Whenever a holiday rolls around and my kids get candy it takes me back to the times when I was a kid and all of the favorites that I used to have. I can remember being at the skating ring and all of us would get a box of Nerds or at the mall we would all see how long the other could chew on a cry baby (remember how SOUR those were!) No matter how old you are there is always that one piece of candy that takes you back to a special childhood memory.
Old Time Candy Company has the best selection of retro candy on the internet! The have over 400 fresh different candies to choose from. You can get Candy you ate as a kid® with the decade assortments or you can pack your own from their wide variety on the Pick your own page. Here are a few different candies that may bring back a memory or two from your past: Wax Lips, Ice Cube Chocolates, Bonomo’s Turkish Taffy, Candy Cigarettes, Candy Buttons on paper tape, Wax Syrup Bottles, Sky Bars, Zagnut, Necco Wafers, Teaberry Gum or Chick-o-Sticks!
There are several different Decade Boxes to choose from but since I grew up in the 80’s I wanted to remember some of the candy from my generation so I went with the 80’s Decade Box.
I wasn’t really sure what candy would be included so I was in total surprise when I first opened up the Decade box and saw how full it was. I instantly started recognizing candy that I hadn’t seen in years. Do you see the package of Cry Baby’s in the bottom left of the box?
As you can see from Jeremy’s face the kids were so excited to look through this huge box of goodies. I had a great time showing Jeremy the candy that I liked to eat when I was his age. I can’t even begin to tell you how much candy is included with the Decade Box. I was really only expecting a few large size candy bars with some other suckers and things added but it is jammed packed full.
One of Aubrey’s favorite candies was the Wax Lips . She walked around with these lips for an hour and kept trying to give everyone a kiss.
The Old Time Candy Decade Boxes are Fantastic and well worth every penny spent!
