Universal Orlando is a family friendly place that caters to just about every type of person. That’s including those thrill seekers (like me) who love to live life on the edge. If you are looking for a place to face your fears and get your adrenaline pumping well you have certainly come to the right place. Universal Studios Orlando has no shortage of attractions that are perfect for those people looking for a good thrill. That’s why I have come up with the Universal Orlando Thrill Seekers Ultimate Checklist. This checklist includes a list of all the best rides and attractions for thrill seekers.
Rides For Thrill Seekers
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida
This Adrenaline pumping and music thumping coaster will have you screaming at 65 mph. As the ride starts you will start climbing straight up, like 17 stories up, looking over Universal Studios. TIP: Be sure to pick your song before the ride takes off or your out of luck. I recommend “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by Charlie Daniels Band.
Knockturn Alley in Diagon Alley
This isn’t really a ride rather an experience but going into a dark and spooky alley can really make your heart start beating fast. Knockturn alley is a place where wizards can go for more of the darker magic and spells. This is where you would find the dark wizards. It has all sorts of fun shops and photo opps so even if your a little spooked make sure you check it out. It’s a really fun place.
The Incredible Hulk Coaster
Holy Moly! If you were to open the encyclopedia and look up a ride for thrill seekers, I’m pretty sure you’d find a picture of this ride. Ok, maybe not. But there should be. The Hulk is a coaster that will turn you into a thrill seeker if you weren’t already one before. Tip: There is a special secret that happens during the ride. Don’t let your friends spoil it for you, if they have ridden it before.
Transformers Ride
Have you ever wanted to walk side by side with a Transformer and take down an Decepticon. Well you will have your chance on the new Transformers 3D ride. The graphics are amazing and looking into the eyes of Optimus Prime is ever little boy’s (especially from the 80’s) dream come true.
Halloween Horror Nights
For the Ultimate adventure, thrill seekers should consider visiting Universal Orlando during the very popular, Halloween Horror Nights. This event runs from mid-September through very early November. Each year this event get’s bigger and better and no two years are ever the same. I recently had the chance to visit during Halloween Horror Nights 24 and let me tell you I got fright of a lifetime. Not only is Halloween Horror Nights incredibly scary but it’s fun. I recommend going with a group of people to make the experience even better. You can learn more about my experience with Halloween Horror Nights here.
Jurassic Park River Adventures
This ride starts off with a nice relaxing boat ride and then quickly turns into a terrifying adventure as you go past hungry dinosaurs and plunge down a watery hill which will get you soaked! TIP: Be sure to wear a Poncho.
Doctor Doom’s Fearfall
You can pretty much tell by the name that this ride is going to be scary. As your strapped into and start to rise, there will probably be one thought that comes to your mind, “What was I thinking?” But don’t worry the fall only lasts a few seconds and afterwards you’ll be ready to do it again.
The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman
This is a thrill ride that the whole family will enjoy, especially for all those Marvel fans. It’s not a roller coaster but more of a 3D motion simulator that will make you seem as if you are falling from sky-rises at times. It’s definitely a must on the thrill-seeking check list.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
One of my favorite rides at Universal Orlando! This ride takes place in Hogwart’s castle over in Universal Orlando. You will encounter gigantic spiders, fly over Hogwarts and there are some parts where you are going to feel like your are falling out. It’s all part of the fun and you don’t want to miss this ride. Tip: If you are prone to motion sickness you may want to take Dramamine about an hour before you ride.
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
Escape from Gringotts takes you on an adventure of a lifetime. You begin in an elevator that takes you deep into the vaults of the bank. Here you will begin your journey. This ride has a combination of a roller coaster and 3D visual effects so you will get the best of both worlds. It’s a thrill seekers adventure ride for sure.
The Fire Breathing Dragon on top of Gringotts
Have you ever seen a dragon breath fire on top of a building? Well if your in Diagon alley you will get your chance. Every 20 minutes or so the dragon will shoot fire from it’s mouth without warning so be ready!
All you thrill seekers here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll experience.
So there you have it. That is my Universal Orlando Ultimate checklist for Thrill Seekers! Universal Orlando is definitely a place where you can get your thrill on!
