Orlando is a great city to visit because whether your looking for fun, adventure, food or history your going to find it. During our recent trip we wanted to do more than just visit the amusement parks and this is how I stumbled upon Titanic The Experience Museum located right in the heart of Orlando. The Museum is a great place for people of all ages especially those who have ever shown and interest in The Titanic because it’s filled with history of the ship, pictures, and actual artifacts found at the wreck site.

When your first arrive at the museum you will be greeted at the box office where you will pay the admission and then each person in your party is given a Boarding Pass. This pass includes all the information from an actually passenger on the Titanic. At the end of the tour you will then be able to look to see if your person survived or perished with the ship. This was actually a really interesting part of the tour because as you walk through the museum looking at pictures and artifacts  in the back of your mind  your wondering if that person survived or not.

There is so much to see at the museum so I would expect to be there for at least an hour. You have the option to take either a guided tour or you can walk around at your own leisure. The museum is HUGE and has about 17 different galleries each holding something different. Throughout the tour you will find over 400 actual artifacts that have been recovered from the wreckage site. It’s really a surreal experience to be starring down at china, parts of the ship and an actual chair that had been on the ship that fateful night.

The museum is interactive so you will be able to experience some of the things that the passengers may have gone through that fateful night. You’ll experience a cold and dark night as you walk on a replicated deck of the ship and even be able to touch an iceberg to see how cold it was in that water when the ship sank.

At the end of the tour we all were able to find the names of our passengers on our boarding passes we received. It was really sad to see just how many people died that night. We had eight people total in our group and out of all of us 6 of the passengers had died.

You are not allowed to bring cameras of any kind into the museum and are asked to turn off your phone while touring so be aware of this before you arrive. You are allowed to take photos in the lobby which have a few fun photo ops.  Admission to Titanic the Experience is $21.95 for adults and $12.95 for children ages 3-11. Kids under 3 are free. If your wondering whether or not your children would enjoy this museum my guess would be yes. My kids are ages 5 and 9 and both of them loved seeing all of the different artifacts and pictures of the ship. It was also a great learning experience for my 9 year old who has just started to show a real interest in the history of The Titanic. If your in the Orlando area and looking for a fun be sure to check out Titanic The Experience.
