Sleep. That’s a word that all new parents live for. As my newly born son Caleb nears the 3 month mark, sleep has become something that is almost a distant memory. My husband and I laugh about how much we took for granted those 8 hour stretches of sleep we used to get. Because honestly when you are as sleep deprived as we are, laughing is pretty much all you can do. I know that this stage will soon be gone but when you are in the moment it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. So if you are as sleep deprived as we are, here are a few tips to hopefully help your little one, and mine, get some much needed shut eye. baby sleeping

Tips To Help Your Baby Get More Sleep

Choose the right diaper for nighttime. Nighttime diapers are designed to be more absorbent to keep baby dry and comfy all night long. Huggies OverNites Diapers are the #1 selling nighttime diaper and are scientifically designed to support baby’s sleep at night. The wick away layer acts to keep baby’s skin dry and healthy and the SnugFit Waistband keeps the diaper in place as your baby moves throughout the night for maximum protection. Look for OverNites at grocery stores and mass retailers to help the entire family have a deep sleep and a happy day.

Don’t award nighttime waking It’s tempting to run to your baby when they start moving around and give them their pacifier, but this isn’t a good habit to start. Trust me, this is one I am trying to break right now.

Be as Boring as possible When you are changing your little ones diaper and feeding them, make the experience as boring as possible. If you talk to your baby, sing to them, etc. this will most likely make them want to stay away longer to enjoy all the fun. All babies will eventually sleep through the night. Some sooner than others, but hopefully with these tips you will be one of the lucky ones. I’d love for you to check out this hilarious video on parents who are sleep deprived and the funny things they have done as a result. huggies
