A few months ago I was lucky enough to get to visit the new BODIES The Exhibition in Tulsa. I had heard so many amazing things about BODIES, so when I found out that the exhibit would be very close to where I am I knew that I had to check it out. I took my good friend Carly who is going to go to school to become a nurse and we both walked around in amazement and completely fascinated the entire time. It was an amazing experience and something I have been talking about for months now.
Last week I received an email inviting me to view the BODIES Exhibit once again because they had re-opened with over 100 new specimens. Well of course I wasn’t going to turn them down, I just couldn’t wait to see what the new exhibit had in store. This time I really wanted to take my husband because after telling him how amazing it was the first time really sparked his curiosity.
When I first walked in I immediately noticed that they had changed everything up and had an almost brand new exhibit. My husband was a little nervous that he would not like it and frankly be uncomfortable looking at real human bodies. This wasn’t the case at all and he really enjoyed being able to see things that he otherwise would have never seen. He was amazed at the size of certain things like the kidneys and really liked seeing the difference between healthy lungs and lungs of a smoker.
Now I realize that this exhibit is NOT for everyone but that is why I took my husband a person who almost passed out while I was having my C-section. He does not handle anything medical related so I knew he would give me an honest opinion about his feelings toward the BODIES Exhibition. I loved it from start to finish and was happy to see just how much my husband enjoyed it as well. I asked him what he felt as we were leaving and he said that he was really glad he went and that he really liked seeing the different displays.
If you haven’t had a chance to see the BODIES The Exhibition yet then I highly recommend it! And if you went before they re-opened with the new specimens, you will want to check it out again because almost everything is new. The people who work the exhibit are very helpful and super friendly and they are there to answer any questions that you might have. My husband and I both had a great time and it is a wonderful way to get a look at how the body works and looks like inside.
