Growing up in the 80’s was interesting, to say the least. Looking back at pictures and watching old movies and music videos I often think “What the Hell was everyone thinking?” Putting aside the huge hair, massive makeup and horrible fashion there were so pretty amazing things about being a child of the 80’s. How about all those incredible toys of the 80s! Below are a few of the favorites that I can remember playing with as a kid. I really think these are some of the best toys of the 80s?
The Best Toys of the 80s
Teddy Ruxpin
I actually still have my old bear in the attic. My dad bought him for me when I was in first grade. He’s missing his bottom lip but he still works.
Pogo Ball
I wonder how many kids gotten broken bones from one of these things?!
Pee-Wee Herman Doll
Saturday mornings were never the same without Pee-Wee’s playhouse.
Master’s of the Universe Castle
Even though I am not a boy this thing was really cool! If I ever run into one of these I would definitely snag it up for my son.
Shera Castle
I absolutely loved this crystal castle when I was a kid. I think they should re-release this toy!
Lite Brite
My sister and I played with our Lite Brite for hours. They still sell these although I’m not sure they are as great as the old ones.
Cabbage Patch Kids
I just recently bought my daughter her first cabbage patch doll!
Snoopy Snow Cone Maker
Peaches N’ Cream Barbie
They did a remake of this doll back in 2009 and it was very strange the first time I saw it on the shelves in stores.
Garbage Pail Kids Trading Cards
The Original Nintendo Gaming System
What is your pick for the best toys of the 80s? Did they make the list.
