Oklahoma is such an amazing and beautiful place to live and raise a family. Even though I have lived here my entire life I often find myself discovering new and exciting places. This week my family and I discovered Cross Timbers Marina located on the beautiful Skiatook Lake. They provided my family and I with a ski boat and tube for the day so that we could experience the lake from a different perspective.
Cross Timbers Marina is located just 25 minutes from downtown Tulsa and is very easy to find. We just typed it into our GPS and it took us right to the Marina. Cross Timbers Marina offers a variety of services including both ski and pontoon boat rentals. Boats can be rented for as a little as 2 hours up to 12 hours depending on your needs. You also have the option to add fun accessories to your boating fun such as water tubes, ski’s and wake boards.
The Marina is beautiful and very clean and all of the boats are in excellent condition. The boat that we had for the day was a newer boat that had actually only been used a few times.
Before you take the boat out, the attendant at the dock will give you a walk through of everything you need to know about the boat. Before you take off they want to make sure your comfortable driving the boat so that you can have the best ride possible.
The ski boat that we received and the one’s that are offered for rental is the 21′ Custom StarCraft 8 passenger ski boat. It comes complete with a MP3 Stereo, Sun Top, Swim Ladder and a Mercruiser 4.3L MPI (220 HP) motor.
We were very excited to take a tube out with the ski boat. Living pretty close to a few lakes my husband and I are no strangers to tubing but our kids have never had the opportunity to ride on one, so this was a special day for them. My son LOVED it and would have rode the tube all day if he could have.
When we weren’t tubing we enjoyed riding around Skiatook Lake. It’s one of my favorite Oklahoma lakes because it’s much cleaner than some of the lakes and the scenery is really beautiful. The radio and speakers on this particular boat was amazing and we were able to listen to our favorite radio stations while riding around. There is plenty of storage space on the boat so you can store your belongings and still have more room to have an ice chest. There’s also plenty of cup holders to keep all those drinks secure even when driving at full speed.
If your looking for a fast boat, the StarCraft definitely does not disappoint. This thing goes fast but it’s a smooth ride (when the weather cooperates) and it feels like your just gliding across the water. It’s the perfect boat if your looking to ski or tube.
We had an amazing time at Cross Timbers Marina and will definitely be renting a boat again in the near future. The convenience of being able to get right on a fully gassed and ready to go boat is priceless! All you have to do is get on and your ready to go, Cross Timbers does all of the work for you.
Prices for both Pontoon and Ski Boat rentals are very reasonable especially if you’ve got a group of your friends and family together and everyone pitched in.
