It’s Shamrock season and that can only mean one thing. Shamrock Shakes are back at McDonald’s, but only for a limited time. I look forward to this time of year for many reasons. One reason is that March 17th aka St. Patrick’s Day just happens to also be my birthday. But the return of the delicious Shamrock Shake is probably one of my top reasons. And I know I’m not alone. Not only are the Shamrock Shakes delicious, but there is something that makes them even better when you know you can only have them for a few weeks out of the year.

Just this past weekend, my daughter and I had been out shopping together. We decided to stop by McDonald’s to grab a bite to eat. As I pulled into the parking lot, I spotted the sign! You know the sign that says..Shamrock Shakes are BACK! I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. But this year is even better than last because McDonald’s has added unexpected twist on the classic Shamrock Shake. That’s right. Starting in February through March, you can enjoy the McCafe Shamrock Chocolate Madness drinks. This means the Shamrock Shakes you love but with a chocolaty twist.

It’s been almost a year since I’ve had a Shamrock Shake so I couldn’t wait to savor every last sip of that drink. And boy was it good. I can’t wait to head back and try some of the other chocolate flavors. And during Shamrock season, when you download the McDonald’s app you can get a free Shamrock Shake after you buy five.

This year be sure to pick up a Shamrock Shake at your local McDonald’s during the week leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. From March 11th through March 17th, for every Shamrock Chocolate Madness product sold, McDonald’s is going to donate 25 cents to Ronald McDonald House Charities®. This is one of my favorite charities because they do so much for families all over the world.
