I have a confession to make, I’m a germaphobe. I guess after having being sick with things like the flu will do that to a person. So as I have had kids it’s become harder and harder to combat my fear of germs because let’s face it…young kids are covered in them. Kids aren’t scared of touching things the way I am and have they no problems reaching out their tiny little hands and picking up the slimmest, germ infested, dirtiest objects they can find. And once these germs have made it onto my kids hands it’s inevitable that one of the first things they touch is the toilet handle. This is probably one of the main places in the house where germs are spread. I try to sanitize the bathroom often especially in the fall and winter months with flu season but there is only so much that I can do. That’s why the new KOHLER Touchless Toilet Flush Kit is a match made in heaven. No more sticky, dirty, germ infested toilet handles for me cause we recently went Hands-free!

The touchless flush kit is a more hygienic way to control the toilet’s flush especially helpful in families with kids. To use it, you simply place your hand over the tank lid that is directly above the sensor and the toilet flushes. It’s seriously that easy. The kit works with most toilets, is powered by 4 AA batteries and takes less than 15 minutes to install. I was a little nervous about how difficult it would be to install the kit, but it wasn’t hard at all. There are no wires sticking out or anything to make you notice the kit. It’s hidden under the lid of the toilet.

Here is a quick demonstration of how the Touchless Toilet works. It’s super easy and the kids love it! You’ll also notice at the end the video the blue light on the back of the toilet seat. This is the Nightlight Toilet Seat which features two LED light displays that illuminate your toilet. This toilet has been great for my kids at night when they need to go to the restroom at it’s dark.

We have been using the Touchless Toilet kit for a little over 2 weeks now and I LOVE it!! It’s really easy for my kids to use and I have noticed that my toilet is even cleaner these days, image that. One thing that I did worry about is that the sensor would be really sensitive and flush the toilet all the time or that it would be difficult for the kids to make the sensor go off. Neither is the case. The sensor is sensitive enough to go off whenever a hand gentle goes over the top of it, but it rarely goes off on accident.
