One of the questions I’ve been asked a lot lately is what are the best bottles for newborn babies. There are so many different bottles to choose from that many people have no clue where to even start looking. I have a few kiddo’s under my belt so I’ve been through many different brands of bottles over the years and the one that I found works really well with both breastfeeding and bottle feeding babies are Philips Avent bottles.
The Philips Avent feeding bottles have a wide breast shaped nippled which helps make it easier to go from breast to bottle. I love breastfeeding but I also love the bonding time that my husband and other family members get to have when they feed the baby as well. That’s why I like to use a bottle that makes it easy for baby to go from breast to bottle.
Best Bottles For Newborn Babies
Philips Avent has lot’s of different bottles to get you started on feeding your baby. Here are the sets that I think are some of the best bottles for newborn babies.
Philips Avent-Best Bottles For Newborn Babies
When you first start out with feeding your baby I would recommend starting out small. Don’t go over board on buying a ton of bottles. You really want to make sure that these are the right kind of bottles for your baby and they will like them. One way to do this is to purchase or to gift someone a starter set that includes everything you need to start feeding your baby. The Philips Avent Infant Starter Set is perfect for this. Inside the starter set you will find:
- (3) 4 ounce Natural Feeding bottles
- (2) 9 ounce Natural Feeding bottles
- Soothie Pacifier
- Formula Dispenser
- Bottle Cleaning Brush
I really love this set because it gives you everything you need without taking up a whole lot of room. Plus it has the smaller bottles for newborns and then the larger ones as they start eating more. You can easily put formula or breast milk into these bottles.
Philips Avent Natural Feeding Bottle
If you would rather buy individual bottles then the Avent Natural Feeding bottle is a great choice. You can purchase these individually at most large retailers and baby stores including Babies R Us. The Natural Feeding bottles come in different sizes but when you are just starting out I would get the smaller 4 ounce sizes and work your way up. I also wanted to mention that the Natural feeding bottles have an advanced anti-colic system which helps to reduce colic and discomfort by venting air into the bottle and not babies tummy. If you’ve ever had a baby that has had colic, then you know how important this feature is. And probably my favorite feature of the Philips Avent Bottles is the large wide neck bottle which makes cleaning so much easier! These bottles are simple to use, require no fancy tubes or gadgets. They are very baby and parent friendly.
Even if you decide to exclusively breastfeed your baby I would still recommend that you have some bottles on hand. Things come up and having a bottle ready to go will relieve a lot of stress, especially for those late night feedings. I can remember exclusively breastfeeding my daughter for the first few weeks. I did pump so I had extra breast milk in the fridge. But when she was about 3 weeks old I got extremely sick and could barely move. THANKFULLY my mom and husband were there to help and bottle feed Aubrey with my breast milk. Had I not had a bottle to feed her, things would have gotten a whole lot worse for me.
