I received two nights accommodation in exchange for my honest review.
Beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe the way I felt, when I first laid eyes upon our cabin at Mountain Harbor Resort and Spa. Mountain Harbor Resort is located on the shores of Lake Ouachita in Mt. Ida, Arkansas and encompasses over 900 acres of beautiful property.
Mountain Harbor Resort and Spa
There are many options when it comes to lodging at Mountain Harbor Resort. These options range from lake view guest rooms and kitchenette units, premiere luxury rustic log-sided cottages with lake view, hot tubs and fireplaces, and spacious condominiums. However, if you’re looking for complete luxury and comfort, I would recommend staying in one of the Harbor North Cabins. We stayed in C21 which is one of the first cabins you drive into Harbor North. It’s gorgeous! It’s everything you would picture a log cabin in the woods to be.
On the back of the house, sits a huge deck that spans the entire length of the cabin. It’s actually so large that each room has it’s own private entrance to the deck. There’s also plenty of seats to sit back,relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. I would sit out on the rocking chair each morning, and have a cup of coffee before everyone else woke up. I even spotted a mama deer and her baby.
Our Personal Hot Tub
Of course hands down, our favorite part of the deck was the Hot tub. We all took full advantage of this amenity. The resort goes above and beyond as far as cleanliness and comfort. That’s why they drain the hot tub after each guest and fill it back up with fresh, clean water before you arrive. They even have a maintenance man come and check the hot tub each day. This is to make sure that it’s perfect for you and your family.
How Many Rooms are in the Cabins?
Each of these cabins come with three large bedrooms and three bathrooms. It can easily sleep 6-10 people comfortably. The cabin also has a fully-equipped state of the art kitchen with all of the essentials you need to make your favorite meals. All you need to bring is the food. During our two days, we cooked steak & baked potatoes, eggs and pancakes and made sandwiches for lunch.
Each of the bedrooms are huge. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have their own personal space. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the other two rooms have two king size beds. There is lot’s of beautiful decor throughout the cabin that really make these rooms stand out.
The Bathrooms
Each of the bathrooms are located in the bedrooms. They have their own separate vanity area and then the shower and toilet are in a separate room. They even have a blow dryer on the wall and other amenities such as shampoo, soap, Q-tips and cotton balls.
The Living Area
When your not relaxing in your bedroom the main living area is beautiful. It’s so spacious and big and the perfect area for your family to wind down after a fun day. The couch is super comfortable and large enough to accommodate a big family. In front of the couch sits a large flat screen TV and DVD player. Don’t worry if you didn’t bring any movies, you can check them out for free at the lodge check-in. They have a wide assortment of movies including old classics you may have forgotten about.
The Dining Room
The dining area is the same room as the kitchen and living room, but sits behind the couches. It’s a huge table and my first though upon seeing it was that it would be the perfect setting to celebrate a special holiday such as Thanksgiving or Christmas.
One of the perks of staying at the cabins is that each has it’s own washer and dryer! This may not seem like a big deal but being able to go home with no dirty laundry is a huge plus. We had actually ran out of clothes when we got to the cabin so it was nice to get everything washed and dried without every having to leave the cabin.
In addition to the beautiful lodging, Mountain Harbor certainly doesn’t disappoint when it comes to activities and amenities. Just a few activities you will find at Mountain Harbor Include:

Here you can fish, or rent a boat from the resort to take out for the day.
Horseback Riding or a Carriage Ride
At the Mountain Harbor Riding Stable we took at carriage ride together as a family and had such a great time!
The Food
The Lodge Restaurant features southern-style cooking and healthy cuisine options. We didn’t get a chance to eat in the restaurant but I could smell it as we walked in to get our keys and it smelled GOOD!

On our last night we wanted to make it extra special for the kids, so we lit the fireplace and snuggled up together on the couch. It was one of those priceless memories that we will never forget.
Mountain Harbor Resort Is Amazing
We had a great time during our two days at Mountain Harbor Resort. The only thing I wish, is that we could of had more of time to stay. There is so much to do and see at Mountain Harbor Resort, that a couple of days just isn’t enough. This was one of the best family vacations we have taken, and we will definitely be returning again very soon.
