Actress and pop sensation Selena Gomez (Ramona and Beezus, “Wizards of Waverly Place”) lights up the screen as Grace, a high-spirited high school graduate looking forward to a vacation in Paris with her best friend Emma (Katie Cassidy, “Melrose Place”), and stepsister Meg (Leighton Meester, “Gossip Girl”). Just as the girls think their trip is ruined when their hyperactive tour guide leaves them behind, Grace is mistaken for a wealthy socialite and the trio is whisked away to Monte Carlo for a thrilling week of glitz, glam, and unforgettable fun.
Last week I sat down with my two kids Jeremy and Aubrey to have a sneak peek at Monte Carlo. I had seen previews for the movie and it looked like a pretty cute movie. My kids love to watch Wizards of Waverly place and think Selena Gomez is hilarious but I wasn’t sure if my 7 year old son would get into this movie or think it was to “girly”. Well I knew after about 5 minutes that both of my kids and myself were going to love this movie. The beginning of the movie starts off with the girls in Paris on a dream vacation were nothing seems to go right, then just as they were all about to give up there luck starts to change when Grace (Selena Gomez) is mistaken for someone else. Suddenly they are whisked away to a life of luxury in Monte Carlo and a week full of excitment. We all really enjoyed this movie even my little one Aubrey. I can really see this being a hit amoung tween girls.
