Cornish Hens are one of my favorite things to make. They are easy, delicious and most importantly they are super pretty after they are cooked. Since Cornish Hens are so small in size it’s easy to cook up several at a time and serve as your main course for a special holiday dinner or even a weeknight meal. The key to making the perfect Cornish Hen is all in the marinade. Marinades can seem intimidating to make from scratch but they are so easy and most of the ingredients you need, you probably already have in the kitchen.

Marinated Cornish Hens

Premium Cornish Hens are 100% All Natural with no added hormones or steroids. They contain no artificial ingredients and are minimally processed. Each hen comes individually bagged which helps to protect it from frosting or getting freezer burn.  One of the reasons I like to make Cornish Hens is that they can be cooked a variety of different ways including roasted in the oven or even grilled. But no matter how you cook your bird, you need a good marinade and the one below is easy, simple and delicious.

How to Cook Marinated Cornish Hens

To make these marinated cornish hens the first thing you need to do is prepare your bird. Make sure you remove the package of giblets from the hen cavity and rinse the bird well with cold water. Next pat dry.

In a medium sized bowl mix together Olive Oil, Lemon Juice, salt, pepper, garlic and rosemary.

Place your hens in 1 gallon resealable plastic bag and cover with the marinade. Make sure that some of your marinade gets inside the cavity of the bird and under the skin for the best flavor. Let the hens and marinade sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours. You can allow it to marinate for up to 24 hours.
