Both of my kids love K’NEX building toys! In fact we have several of their sets including the sesame street characters and various other action sets made for older kids like Jeremy. K’NEX has such a wide variety of building sets for kids of all ages plus they are very budget friendly.

K’NEX has brought Nintendo’s best selling video game to life with the Mario Kart Wii Building Sets. We were recently sent the Mario and Standard Kart Building Set and the Luigi and Standard Bike Building Set.

Luigi and Standard Bike Building Set
Build Luigi and his Standard Bike from Mario Kart Wii! Includes a buildable, Luigi figure and K’NEX rods, connectors and bricks to build his Standard Bike, exactly like in the game. You can also use the package as a ramp when you’re done building! For ages 6+.

Mario and Standard Kart Building Set
Build Mario and his Standard Kart from Mario Kart Wii! Includes a buildable Mario figure, a banana peel item, plus a pull-back motor and K’NEX pieces to build his standard kart, exactly like in the game. Collect them all and race your friends! The package can be re-used as a ramp for even more after-building fun. For ages 6+

Jeremy loves playing Mario so being able to put his two favorite things together was pure excitement for him. He wanted to put these sets together all by himself so I decided to let him have a go at it since the recommend age is 6+. Each of the sets has several pieces but the instructions are pretty simple to follow and Jeremy had no trouble putting either of them together all by himself.

I was very impressed at the detail of the Mario and Luigi characters. These alone are worth owning the building sets! Jeremy had so much fun pretending and it was really cute to hear him use his make-up voices for the characters.

Jeremy had a blast building these and has played with them all week! They even have a special spot in his room so that he can get to them easily and so Aubrey can’t get to them. The age recommendation is right on, Jeremy will be 7 in May and he had no problems putting either of these together. In fact he took some of his other K’NEX parts and made special accessories to go with the sets.

The Mario Kart also has a built-in pull back motor which is really fun and the best part is..no batteries! The box that it comes in doubles as a track so Jeremy had fun making the Kart go over the track by itself. These are really fun toys and a great way to spark imagination. We give these toys two big thumbs up and I think they would make great gifts for birthdays or even for Easter Baskets.

In June K’NEX will have even more products, contests, videos and more so be sure to check back periodically for updates. You can also follow K’NEX on facebook for the latest products and news as well.
