I have always been fascinated in Glassblowing and how these talented people can can create some of the most amazing pieces of art all from molten glass. I have never actually seen the process in person so I was excited to get the chance to visit the Vetro Art Glass Studio in Grapevine, Texas with my son. We were invited along with a few other families during the Family Travel Conference to visit Vetro and actually help make some Hand Blown Glass Ornaments.
During the Holiday months Vetro offers “Traditional Ornament Making” to anyone interested for only $30. Guests have the opportunity to choose between three different colors that they would like for their ornament. You can either pick one color, two colors or all three if you like. My son decided that he wanted just one color and chose black which turned out to be beautiful. In addition to picking out the colors you will also get the chance to help apply these colors yourself and become and official glassblower.
It is an amazing experience to watch these talented men at work creating beautiful pieces of art. When I asked my son what he thought about Vetro here is what he said, “I really, really liked it. My favorite part was watching them make the ornament. It was just really cool”.
We just received the ornament in the mail this week and it is GORGEOUS!! My son insisted on this being the centerpiece of our tree.
