Everyone loves movies. So this summer, why not put together a fun, family friendly event like a movie night themed party. Putting together a movie night party is super easy. And with such a great theme you can really have a lot of fun with this type of party.
The first thing you need to do to throw the best movie night themed party is to make a list of everything you will need. Decorations, food, snacks, drinks and of course what kind of movie your going to watch. These are all things you should take into account when planning your party.
After you have made your list, the next thing you need to do is purchase everything you need. Sam’s Club is the perfect place to start. I headed there before my movie night themed party and purchased 3 XXL big bags of M&M’s® in a variety of flavors including M&M’s® Original, M&M’s® Crispy and M&M’s® Peanut.
These M&M’s® can be found in the candy aisle at Sam’s Club. They are perfect for parties because with such a large amount of candies you can make lot’s of fun goodies for your party, including a chocolate chip M&M’s® cookie pizza.
Chocolate Chip M&M’s® Cookie Pizza Recipe
- 16 oz or 1 pound of chocolate chip cookie dough
- 1 Cup Shredded Coconut
- 1/2 cup melted chocolate
- 1-2 Cups of your favorite kind of M&M’s®
This dessert is so easy to make. The first thing you need to do is spray a large pizza pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Then spread out your cookie dough on the pan leaving about an inch or so away from the edge. Next bake the cookie pizza in the oven at 350 degrees for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool.
Now is the fun part. The toppings! I spread a good amount of melted chocolate over the top of the cookie. You can use chocolate chips, Nutella, peanut butter, chocolate frosting or whatever your heart desires.
Next you’ll add about 1/2 cup to 1 cup of shredded coconut.
And for the grand finale, you’ll add handfuls of colorful M&M’s® to the top.
Now with those XXL bags of M&M’s® you will have plenty of candy even after you decorate your cookie pizza. So what can you do with all those extra M&M’s®? You’re options are endless but here are a few of my ideas.
First you can play Movie Night Bingo using the M&M’s® as your game pieces. There are ton’s of free printables out there on Google for you to choose from.
And who doesn’t love to eat M&M’s® while watching a movie. I found these adorable star glass holders at the Dollar store. Not only did they make adorable decorations but the M&M’s® fit inside of them perfectly.
After you have taken care of your snacks and food for the party, you need a few decorations. I found a black plastic table cover and added fun decor like popcorn bags, ticket stubs and silver and red balloons. The fun thing about this type of party is that there are so many options when it comes to decorating. Just have fun with it!
