I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Lions Gate. I received a book, products, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
I don’t know about you but for a whole year I have eagerly been awaiting the release of the finality of The Hunger Games Trilogy: Mockingjay Part 1. Like most people, I was hooked from the moment I saw the first movie and just couldn’t get enough. I will admit that I watched the movies before I read the books. It wasn’t until my son started reading the books that I thought this would be a great way for me to get more information behind the movie. If you haven’t read The Hunger Games trilogy yet, whether you have seen the movie or not, I highly recommend you do. This is a fantastic series and the books go into so much more detail than the movie.
The worldwide phenomenon of The Hunger Games continues to set the world on fire with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the third in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.
I recently hosted a book party with some of my family and friends where we talked about the upcoming movie release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. I gave each of my guests a new copy of the Mockingjay book and we talked about what we hope happens in the book and what he hope doesn’t. I read the book before the party and without giving any details away, I will say that I was happy with how the series ends.
A lot of people think of The Hunger games franchise as teen-oriented but I would have to say that I disagree. There is a lot of aspects to the movie that adults can relate to especially women. Katniss is such a strong character and even though she is so young I can relate with her trying to do all she can to protect her family. I would do the same for mine.
After going over the book, I showed my guests the newest trailer to Mockingjay and let’s just say everyone was EXTREMELY excited! The movie looks like it’s going to be fantastic and full of action and adventure. If you want to check out the trailer for yourself here’s a sneak peek below.
The Mockingjay novel is now available to purchase in stores and online. And you won’t have to wait long for the movie because Mockingjay Part 1 will hit theaters on 11/21.
