Being the mom of two picky eaters I have my work cut out for me when it comes to finding foods that they will not only eat but also enjoy. Tyson Chicken Nuggets are one of those foods that I have never had a problem getting either one of my kids to eat. Since Christmas is only a few days away I decided to do something fun and different with my kiddo’s. Instead of the traditional cookie decorating we decided that it would be super fun to decorate our chicken nuggets.
Before we could decorate our nuggets we needed to make a special trip to Sam’s Club to pick up a few ingredients. Of course if you have ever been into Sam’s Club, a few things normally turns into a basket full of good deals.
The Tyson Chicken Nuggets are made from 1oo% natural ingredients and in my opinion they have a MUCH better taste than competitors. My kids feel the same way.
When we were ready to make our creations I let my kids decide on how they would like to decorate their nuggets and with what toppings. They decided on a nugget snowman and a nugget Christmas tree and since they are pretty picky we just went with some basic condiments like ketchup, mustard and ranch.
The nugget snowman that Aubrey made was very easy for her to decorate. I took three nuggets and stuck a toothpick through the middle holding all of the nuggets together.
Next I cut another nugget into a triangle shape for the snowman’s hat. They Aubrey covered the three bottom nuggets with white ranch to look like snow. The hat we covered with ketchup and the eyes, mouth and buttons we made with mustard.
Guess who gobbled up their entire snowman…my picky eater.
My son made the Chicken Nugget Christmas tree. I think it turned out pretty good but it would have been fun to add a few more colors. I’ve seen green ketchup before so I think next time I will try and find something like this to make the tree a little more colorful.
This was such a fun time and my kitchen was full of giggles especially as they both chowed down on their creations. We always make Christmas cookies each year but I think I am going to add the nugget decorating to our yearly tradition. My kids loved it and I think they ate more food than they normally do.
I would love for you all to check out my Google Album where I have many more pictures from my shopping trip. You can check it out HERE.
What are some traditions that you are and your family do each year?
