Most of us take for granted how easy it is to grab a fresh clean diaper to change our baby. But for one in three families in the U.S having diapers is a much harder thing to come by. Earlier this year President Obama brought to light this diaper need and urged companies to come forward to help. And in March, Huggies did just that when they donated 22 million diapers to help “wipe out” diaper need in the US.
Huggies didn’t just stop there. They have continued to help by “wipe out” diaper need with a matching donation of 22 million free Huggies Wipes to the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN). Huggies is the founding sponsor of the NDBN and over the past six years they have donated a combination of more than 200 million diapers and wipes. Isn’t that amazing!
The NDBN helps families from all over the country and in fact more than half of its member diaper banks provide other basic need items besides diapers, like body cleansing products, including wipes, which are the second-most distributed item.
Huggies is also teaming up with the City Dads Group and The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) to engage parents on skin health and diaper need. Everyone can join in the conversation during the “Huggies Wipes Out Diaper Need” Twitter Party, taking place on June 23 from 8-9 p.m. EST using #DiaperNeed.
