Advice on getting rid of Binky, Pacifier, Toddler addictions
Aubrey is getting close to being 2 1/2 and she is still very attached to her “binky”! I really want to get rid of it and I know that it is time but convincing her is a whole different story.
As some of you know Aubrey has kidney reflux which has caused her to be sick and even hospitalized a few times over these past 2 years. We weren’t sure if she was going to have to have surgery to correct this issue so I didn’t want to take her only comfort object away with this looming in the background.
Since she has gotten older I have realized that she can’t walk around with a binky for the rest of her life. The only problem is she is not budging getting rid of this thing! I have tried hiding it, bribing her and the binky fairy even came to take it away to a little baby in exchange for a present (this worked until bedtime and then she had a major meltdown).
So I am in need of some advice. I can’t stand the thought of making her cry it out so that is not an option for us. What did you all do to get rid of the binky?
