DreamWorks Pictures newest film Lincoln is now in theaters, have you had a chance to see it yet? The movie is  getting rave reviews from critics and other mom bloggers like myself, so if you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, make sure you head out this weekend, grab some popcorn and a big Ice Cold Soda and enjoy one of 2012’s best films of the year.

After seeing the release of this movie, many people are taking this opportunity to teach their young children about Abraham Lincoln and how he helped change this nation and end slavery. A great companion book to go along with the film is the book Lincoln: How Abraham Lincoln Ended Slavery in America which is available online and in stores now. I think this is a great book to help your kids understand some of the issues of the movie that they might not understand.

Also available is the Lincoln Interactive iPad Book that you can download for FREE on iTunes right now. With this interactive book you can go behind the scenes of the movie and see how this crucial time in American’s history was recreated and brought to the big screen with beautiful artwork, pictures, interviews, music and more.

And after you see the movie, make sure you tune into OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network this Sunday December 2nd at 9:00pm for a special 90 minute episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter. She will be talking to Steven Spielberg, Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field about their collaboration on the film Lincoln. I can’t wait to see what they all have too say. Be sure to check it out.
