I received two complimentary nights at The Gaylord Texan. All opinions expressed below are my own.
Last summer my kids and I got the chance to visit The Gaylord Texan Resort during the very popular Summerfest. We had such an incredible time, so much in fact that my kids are constantly talking about our stay at The Gaylord and how much fun they had. We have been wanting to make another trip to Grapevine since last year so during Spring Break I surprised the kids with another fun and exciting adventure at The Gaylord Texan.
The excitement builds as soon as you turn down the road that takes you to the hotel. The Gaylord is HUGE and is absolutely beautiful. It’s more than just a place to rest your head at night because there is always something going on all year long.
Our room was located centrally in the hotel overlooking the Atrium. I highly recommend this area of the hotel, when booking your room because there is so much to see from your room plus it’s easy access to all the amenities of the hotel. Just like our last stay the room was clean, comfortable and luxurious at the same time. We received two queen beds (SO SOFT) which were plenty of room for our family of four. The room has a flat-screen TV, desk area, high speed internet, and separate bathroom/shower and vanity area. I really love when hotels have this option in the room, it makes getting ready in the morning so much easier.
If you like to eat, ((raises hand)), then you have plenty of dining options inside The Gaylord Texan. We took advantage of several of the restaurants at the hotel including the Riverwalk Cantina which services southwestern style dishes at reasonable prices.
You wouldn’t think that March would be a very prime time for swimming but my kids didn’t mind the colder weather at all. We were actually pretty lucky because the temps where in the 70’s and the outdoor pool is heated so there was lot’s of activity in the pool area. I more of a hot tub type of person so while the kids took a dip in the pool, I relaxed the hot tub which is located right next to the pool.
There is always so much going on at The Gaylord Texan. If you just decided to take your vacation and stay at the hotel the entire time you would be all set. Around every corner is something fun and unique to look at like these powered trains set up in life-like cities. My kids were fascinated by the trains and we took our time watching them go from one end of the track to the other.

In addition to the restaurants, pools and fun overall atmosphere the hotel offers a state of the art spa and fitness center. We didn’t get a chance to check these out this time around but hopefully we can enjoy theses service on our next visit.
