Last week I received something I have been wanting for a long time, the Fellowes Saturn 2 95 Laminator. With both of my kids in school a laminator is something that definitely comes in handy more ways than one. Before the Fellowes Laminator, I had never owned a Laminator before so I wasn’t sure how complicated it was going to be to use, if it would take up a lot of space or if it would be another item that I would use once and that’s it. Well after using this product almost everyday since I received it, I’m happy to report that I didn’t experience any of these things.
The Fellowes Laminator is small and compact and designed to be used in homes, the classroom or even an small office setting. The Laminator comes with a small starter kit so your ready to start laminating things as soon as you take it out of the box. I set my laminator up on my kitchen table, all I need to do was plug it in and select which size sheet I was using to laminate and hit the button. That’s it! It only takes about 5 minutes for this machine to heat up and you will know when it’s ready to laminate because the start button flashes green while it’s heating up and when it’s ready it stays green.
The laminator gets hot enough to ensure that your documents will be smooth but the advanced temperature control ensures that this heat stays inside the laminator so it’s cool enough to touch. It’s able to laminate documents up to 9.5 inches wide in 3 and 5 mil pouches without a carrier. Because both of my kids started school this past month I decided that I wanted to make some Back to School Calenders for each of them. There are lot’s of really great ideas at Fellowes online ideas center for Back to School Projects as well as fun holiday activities. The calender was super easy to make, after I printed it I placed it inside a 3 mil pouch set the laminator to the 3 mil option and waited for it to heat up. Then I just inserted the sheet into the laminator and about a minute later I had the perfect back to school calender.
The reason I wanted to laminate the calenders was because you can use a dry erase marker to write things down and erase as you need to. My son loves this and it’s helped him remember things that he needs to get done through the week. I also plan on making both of my kids a chore chart.
I have so many fun ideas and crafts that I plan on making over the next few months especially since we have three major holidays just right around the corner. I have also been using it to protect those priceless treasures that my kids bring home from school. My son drew a dragon last year at school and he has been so afraid that it would get tore up, so we put it away. A few days ago I got it out of our keepsake box and laminated it and he absolutely loved it. The laminator made the colors come out of the drawing and now we don’t have to worry about it getting ripped or messed up. I love this laminator and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for one.
