*Disney provided most of my travel, accommodations and food during the #DisneySportsFestival. All opinions expressed are my own.
Last month I got the chance to head to Disney World to check out the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. During these four days I learned so much about this amazing complex and the ways Disney goes above and beyond to make these young athletes feel like they are apart of the big leagues. This past week I shared with you about the first couple of days of the Disney Sport event and you can read about that here.
On our third day of the event we were all invited to experience a FunRun through Epcot before the parks were event open. I have to admit I am not a runner so I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this or not, but it was amazing! I can’t wait to do my next run with Disney. I would love to experience one of the big events such as The Tower of Terror run! After the run everyone went back to their rooms to freshen up and eat breakfast before we headed back to the complex. Disney Sports had a lot in store for us and I couldn’t wait to learn more. Our first stop was the Welcome Center where anyone visiting the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex can find out anything and everything they need to about Disney World. You can find out the weather, order bag lunches for your team, get discounted Disney Parks tickets, they can even help you find restaurants in the area that will accommodate the size of your team.
A short walk away from the Welcome Center is the Disney Sports Festival Sports Tent where Team Moms, players and other family members can go to cool down and get out of the hot sun. There are fans and misters set up throughout the tent for your convenience. Inside the tent there is a giant movie screen where Disney movies (such as Star Wars) are played in the afternoon. Team Moms also have the chance to find out information, ask questions and even have a chance to win a few prizes. In the back of the tent there is also a mobile Office Max Business Center where you can charge your phones and more.
After a look at the tent we were all invited back inside to check out the Game Day Photo services offered at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. This is a great opportunity for athletes and teams to have professional photos taken during game play, team photos or you can have fun individual shots. We all got our photo taken in front of a green screen and also with Goofy! I wasn’t sure what the photo would look like but when we received it I got a big kick out of seeing my photo on the front of a ESPN magazine cover. I bet the young athletes just love this.
On our next stop was the ESPN Live Broadcast Center. This was one of the most exciting parts about the complex because Live broadcasts and sports go hand in hand. Throughout the complex you will find giant screens that are broadcasting live events happening at various fields. You can even watch these broadcasts on select channels from your Disney resort rooms. The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex has so much to offer young athletes and their families! It’s truly a one of a kind place where you can live out all of your athletic dreams.
Thank you so much to Disney Sports for such an amazing visit! I loved being able to visit the complex and learn so much. Be sure to check out my other ESPNWWOS Posts on Two Traveling Moms to learn more about my time at the Wide World of Sports Complex.
