I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Vanity Fair Lingerie. I received product samples to facilitate my review and compensation to thank me for my participation.

When I was a young girl I can remember dreaming of all the things that I would be when I grew up. A pediatrician, an actress maybe even a teacher. Back then, there was nothing that could stand in the way of me becoming whatever I wanted to be. Once I grew up I realized that things like that weren’t always as easy as they may seem and sometimes life throws you unexpected curveballs that put your dreams and aspirations on hold.

As I got older I did graduate from college and got my nursing degree. I worked in the neonatal intensive care unit at a local hospital for 7 years and loved every minute of it. Thankfully I had family and a husband who helped support me through college and helped my achieve my dreams. But I know that there are many women out there who have different circumstances and lack the support system necessary to reach their goals. That’s where Dress for Success®  comes in to play. Dress for Success is a fantastic program designed to give women confidence and tools to help them find their place in this world. Known primarily for their suiting program, they help provide professional clothing to women in need for job interviews. 70% of the women that Dress for Success helps each year are women that are mothers and raising on average 2-3 kids.

This program helps women get back on their feet and gives them the tools they need to find a job and stay employed for the long run. While I was in NYC a few months ago I got the chance to hear from a woman who has had her life changed with the help of Dress for Success. This woman was coming out of an abusive relationship and when she finally got out she couldn’t find a job. She said that she tried for 2 years to get a job when finally she got her first interview. But as she went to her closet to find a professional outfit to wear, she realized she had nothing. So with the help of Dress for Success they gave her a boost of confidence and a  new outfit to help her land that job and in return it changed her life for the better.

After learning about Dress for Success I have become such an advocate for this program. It’s an amazing thing that they are doing all over the country to help promote confidence and professionalism by pairing women with individual staff members who will work with them one-on-one.

Having a job and the pride and independence that goes along with it is something that everyone should be able to experience. To learn more about Dress for Success and how you can help with this program be you can visit Dress for Success online or through their social media outlets listed below.
