If you’ve been following my blog, facebook posts or tweets over the past week you might have noticed that I have been talking a lot about the upcoming release of Disney/Pixar’s newest animated film Brave. On Monday night Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles celebrated it’s Grand Opening with the World Premiere of Brave and I was so incredibly lucky to be able to attend this event.

I have to admit that I was pretty nervous about walking the red carpet and really had no clue what to expect. You see I’m from Oklahoma and as much as I love my home state, it’s about as far as Hollywood glamour as you can get and you can imagine we don’t get many red carpet premieres around here. I’ve seen pictures of red carpet events but nothing could prepare me for the overwhelming excitement from actually experiencing an event like this first hand, in-person.

The crowd was intense as we walked the “green” carpet and you could feel the excitement of the people as they were waiting to see their favorite celebrities. I was only on the green carpet for a few minutes but even in this short time I was able to spot a few celebrities including Skai Jackson from the Disney Sitcom Jessie, Kevin Nealon from SNL and Bella Thorne from Disney’s Shake it Up.

The set up for this red carpet event was incredible! First off the red carpet was transformed into a green grassy carpet to give it the look and feel of a Scottish theme. There were Scottish bagpipes playing in the background along with highland dancers giving this event a true authentic Scottish appeal. I had seen the movie the previous day but it was honestly even better the second time around and you could tell that the audience all loved the film with the overwhelming round of applause at the end of Brave.

When the movie was over I was able to attend the after-party which was Incredible! There was Scottish-themed food, bagpipes, face-painting, pictures with Merida and if you were “Brave” enough you could even taste test Haggis (No I didn’t try it I was too chicken!) This event was one of the most amazing things I have ever done. Brave opens in theaters everywhere TODAY June 22nd and I promise you, you don’t wan’t to miss out on this movie! Go see it.

Disclosure: Disney/Pixar provided travel and accomadations during this event. All opinions expressed are 100% honest and my own.
