Frankenweenie was definitely one of my favorite animated movies of 2012. I am a big fan of Tim Burton and some of his other films like Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Alice and Wonderland. He is a great film-maker and really came through with Frankenweenie because it’s a film that both kids and adults will enjoy. The movie was released last year before Halloween and I have been waiting for the release of Frankenweenie on DVD. Well the wait is over because you can finally grab your copy next Tuesday!
About the Movie:
From Disney and creative genius Tim Burton comes the hilarious and offbeat “Frankenweenie”, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life-with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town learn that getting a new ‘leash on life’ can be monstrous.

Our Thoughts:
Even though we had already seen the movie and loved it I was excited to get a chance to watch it again and see all of the bonus features. The bonus features are amazing especially learning how they brought this movie “to life”. Frankenweenie is a mixture of everything an animated movie should be, it’s got comedy, action, suspense and even a few parts that are a little spooky. Overall it’s a great film. Look for Frankenweenie on Blu-ray and DVD January 8th, 2013.
