We have mostly hardwood floors throughout our house and I have to say with kids I would have it no other way! It is amazing the amount of crumbs and dirt that accumulate on the floors and rugs throughout the day. I usually try and sweep the floors and vacuum the area rugs at least once a day, otherwise it can get really messy quick. The worse part about this is how long it takes to do both, first I have to sweep the floors and then carry the HEAVY vacuum cleaner to each room that needs to be cleaned. It can get very time consuming to say the least.
Dirt Devil recently sent me the Powerflex 2-n-1 Stick Vac. I have had stick vacs in the past and they just didn’t pick up very well so I was curious to see if the Powerflex would be any different.
The flexibility of a hand vac and stick vac in one easy to use product. As a stick vac, the motorized brushroll and the swivel nozzle give you greater maneuverability over carpets and bare floors. The hand vac, with integrated crevice tool, lets you clean hard to reach places. Cyclonic filtration keeps you cleaning with sustained suction.
Features:
-Brush Base with Rotating Roller-Brush
-Operating Indicator-blue
-Dust Container
-Permanent filter with fitted motor filter
-Charging indicator
-On/Off Switch on Hand Held Cleaner
-Upright Cleaning Receptacle
-Release Catch for Hand Held
-Crevice Nozzle
-Charging Station Base
-Screw Slots of Wall Mounting
When I first got the Powerflex I was excited to get it out of the box and see how it works. I didn’t realize until I got it out of the box that the stick vac is actually cordless! There are 3 major pieces to the Powerflex: The base, where you place the stick vac and hand vac on together to charge, the stick vac and the hand vac.
Here is what the Vacuum looked like right out of the box.
The Powerflex was extremely easy to put together. I did have to let the vacuum charge on the base for 24 hours before the first use. Below is a picture of the base where the vacuum is charged. This unit plugs into the wall. It can also be mounted to the wall for easy storage.
So after 24 hours of charging I was ready to put the Powerflex to the test. The first thing that I used it on was the area rug in the living room where I have the most traffic. I could not believe how light-weight and powerful this stick vac is and not only that it has an incredible suction, the entire carpet was crumb free after the first use.
The best part and the highlight of my day was when I realized that not only am I going to be able to clean the area rugs throughout the house but I will be able to clean the hardwood floors at the same time. No more sweeping for me! After the living room was done, I decided to test out the hand vac on those hard to reach places.
There are four separate pieces to the hand vac, and they are really easy to put together and take apart to clean out. There are two different filters, the motor protection filter and the permanent filter. Both can be dry cleaned by hand or run under cold water if they are really dirty.
There is also an extender on the hand vac which I used to get all of the hard to reach dirt in the crevices along the walls. I have never been a big fan of vacuuming but I had so much fun going from room to room today seeing what all my new stick and hand vac could pick up.
If you are looking for a vacuum that can not only clean carpets and bare floors or a powerful hand vac then I highly recommend the Dirt Devil Powerflex 2-n-1 Stick Vac. It is an amazing vacuum that not only saves you time but gets the job done right the first time.
