My kids love to get out their crayons and markers and make crafts but unfortunately I am not much of a creative person and need a little help with ideas from time to time. I was recently asked to review an item from Creative Toyshop and instantly became amazed at the Calafant cardboard toys that unique and look like a blast to make as a family. After careful consideration (my son took about 30 minutes to decide which one he liked the most) we decided that the Calabot Robot looked like a lot of fun to make.
When the Calabot arrived Jeremy was so excited and eager to start making it right then. My husband was still at work and he is usually the “builder” in our family but after opening up the box and taking a look at the directions I felt like it was something that I could help him do by myself so we started working on the robot.
Both Jeremy and Aubrey were super big helpers and were able to fold the cardboard pieces and connect things. I will say this is something that they wouldn’t be able to do by themselves but they loved being able to help me and it was fun family time for us.
All of the Calafant toys are made from High-quality recycled cardboard and every piece bends and folds as it should. I had no problems getting any of the pieces to stick together and the instructions were pretty easy to follow. There were only a few parts that I got stumped on but it didn’t take long to figure it out.
All in all it took us about 45 minutes to completely assemble the robot. Both of the kids were so excited to see it standing upright. The robot stands over 3 1/2 feet tall! Unfortunately we didn’t have the color of paint the Jeremy wanted to use to paint the robot so we had to put that part of the decorating off until this weekend, but he is really excited.
We had a really fun time together putting together this robot. If your looking for something fun to do with your kids then I recommend you check out Creative Toyshop! We have our eye on a few other calafant products for the summer.
