Being a blogger has taken me down some pretty interesting roads. I have traveled to places I never thought I would go and met celebrities that I never thought I’d meet. That’s one of the perks of the job. But whenever I hear that we are going to be interviewing child actors I always get really excited. These are the most fun interviews and these kids are always so humble and excited to tell you about their time filming a movie or TV show. Recently I got the chance to interview Thomas Robinson and Raffey Cassidy. Thomas plays the young Frank in Tomorrowland and Raffey plays Athena.
We only had about 15 minutes to sit down and chat with Thomas and Raffey but let me tell you, these two kids are darling! They were very excited about Tomorrowland and to share all their favorite parts about the movie.
Favorite Part About Filming Tomorrowland?
Thomas wasted no time chiming in and quickly said his favorite part was the stunts. “I really liked all the stunts. The stunts were so much fun to train and film that part. The falling sequence, I actually did it in, like, an indoor skydive thing. That was probably the coolest thing that I got to do on that set.”
Who Would You Give Your Pin To?
In Tomorrowland, one of the most symbolic items is the Tomorrowland pin. That’s how you get into Tomorrowland and not just anyone can get a pin. So when we asked who Thomas and Raffey if they had a pin who would they give it to. Here is there responses, which I thought where PERFECT! E
Athena: I’d probably give it to Mike Wazowski (from Monster’s Inc.) because you can come into Tomorrowland and make cool inventions.
Thomas: I would probably give it to my friend, Sam. He is also an actor, and he has such an open mind, and he’s always game for just anything, and he’s really optimistic, and I think that he would fit in.
Besides Acting What Do You Want To When You Get Older?
Being an actor is a great job, but many times kids who get in the business early, end up doing something different or in addition to acting. So I wanted to know what other interests these two had and what they might want to do when they get older. Their answers where actually really surprising and fantastic.
Raffey said she loves special effects and would love to do special effect makeup when she gets older. But not just any special effects. She said she loves the gory stuff. Thomas loves to cook and wants to learn how to be a chef.
I really loved interviewing these two, they were fantastic and very talented actors. If you haven’t had a chance to see Tomorrowland yet, be sure to put it on your must see movie list. It’s a great film.
