Snacks are something that my family and I can never have a shortage of. However over the past year we have tried to replace some of these sweet and salty snacks with products that are a little more filling and overall better for us. A few weeks ago I was introduced to a new company called Brazi Bites. If your not familiar with these bite sized snacks, don’t worry I’m going to fill you in on what you have been missing.
Brazi Bites are a family recipe that was started by a husband and wife team, Junea Rocha and Cameron MacMullin. Brazi Bites Cheese Bread Snacks (aka Brazilian Cheese Bread and Pão de Queijo) are all-natural, gluten-free, ready-to-bake South American traditional snacks made with the highest-quality natural ingredients. These snacks couldn’t be any more convenient because they go straight from the freezer, to the oven for 15-20 minutes and then straight into your mouth.
There are a variety of flavors to choose from including Original, Fire-Roasted Jalapeño and Nitrate-Free Bacon and we taste-tested all of them. I decided to bake up a batch of Brazi Bites for an afternoon snack this past weekend. My kids are the ultimate food-testers because if they like something it means that it must be REALLY good because they are super picky.
The Brazi Bites bake in the oven, straight from the freezer, at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. When you first put them on the baking sheet they are flat but once they cook they become round and fluffy. The outside texture of the Brazi bite is soft but also crunchy like bread.
Once you take a bite they you will find an inside that is fluffy with the perfect mixture of seasoning. We ate them straight from the oven by themselves but these bites would be great paired with cheese, meats, wine or dipping sauces.
So what did the kids think? They LOVED them. I don’t mean they liked them, they really loved them. I cooked up about 25 Brazi Bites and within 20 minutes they were gone. My daughter even liked the Jalapeño flavored bite, which had a little kick to it.
These bite-sized balls of goodness contain no preservatives, GMOs, sugar or trans-fats. Each bag contains 20 bites and you can find them in the freezer section for an average retail price of $5.49. Brazi Bites are the perfect snack for parties, family gatherings, game day, or just as part of an everyday meal. In fact I think these would be a great appetizer for upcoming Easter brunches.
