Boo-ing is a growing tradition that celebrates my favorite thing about Halloween, The sweets! Boo-ers leave a mysterious note like a ghost poem along with a delicious treat on the front steps of your friend or neighbors doorsteps. Whenever this person is boo-ed they are to continue this sweet tradition by boo-ing two other friends or neighbors before Halloween night.
It’s easy and fun to join in on the fun of Boo-ing. Here’s how you do it! First, find a fun poem online or you can even make one up yourself. Next, put together your favorite Hershey Halloween treat. The Hershey website has some great ideas so you can start there. After that decide which two people you are going to Boo! Then it’s time to make the “drop”. Place your goodies on the doorstep, ring the doorbell and RUN! The whole point is to stay anonymous so you don’t want to get caught. You can hide somewhere out of site so that when your neighbor comes out and see’s the sweet treat waiting for them, you will be able to see their happy look come across their face.
I think this is such a fun tradition and one that my kids and I plan to take full advantage of! My kids have already started to think of friends and family members that they want to boo, so this should be a year filled with lot’s of candy. In the meantime we are enjoying all the wonderful candy that Hershey’s sent to us this Halloween. They included my favorite, Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins, Cadbury Screme Eggs and Spooky Kit Kat Bars. My kids, and I loved all of them. To learn more about how you can get started on Boo-ing your neighbors and ideas for Halloween recipes and more be sure to visit Hershey’s online for a little Halloween inspiration.
So who will you be Boo-ing this Halloween?
