Food. It’s pretty much the best part of vacation. During my recent visit to Oklahoma City I got to try out some amazing restaurants with some of the best food in town. So without further ado, here are the Best Places To Eat In Oklahoma City!
Best Places To Eat In Oklahoma City
Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill
Located in Bricktown, this is a place that you don’t want to miss. The restaurant was created by Country Music star, Toby Keith and there is no mistaking this little fact when you walk through the door. It’s covered in Toby Keith memorabilia and its always a really fun place to eat. But most importantly the food is amazing. You will find classic Oklahoma dishes such as Chicken Fried Steak, meatloaf and beans and cornbread. Portion sizes are insane and you definitely get your money’s worth at this place. TIP: Thursday’s are great time to visit because it’s $2 Solo Cup day where you get a cup filled with ice cold beer for $2.
Ludivine
Farm to Fork, that’s what the owners of Ludivine envisioned when they first opened the restaurant in 2010. Ludivine is a small restaurant with big appeal. All of their food is made fresh when you order it. If you are brave enough, I recommend the Bone Marrow. It’s one of their specialities. It’s not for everyone but many people love the Bone Marrow. After you are done eating it be sure to order a bone marrow luge. This is a shot of brandy and sherry given to you straight through the empty bone. It may sound a bit gross but, it’s actually really good.
The Bleu Garten
The Bleu Garten isn’t a restaurant but more of a place where you can go, have a drink and a bite to eat. It’s basically a Food Truck Park where each day you can choose from a variety of delicious foods from different food trucks. This place is really fun! We visited on a Friday night and it was the place to be. You can have a drink from the bar, and then play a game of giant Jenga on the courtyard. The thing I loved the most about The Bleu Garten is that it’s a place where everyone can go. You can bring your kids or even your pets. It’s fun for all ages.
Cafe Kacao
I’m going to be completely honest. I am not really an adventurous eater. I know you may be thinking that after my Bone Marrow Luge I will eat anything, but normally I try and stick with foods I know I will like. Boring, isn’t it! But after my visit to Cafe Kacao, I have seen the light and will no longer stay in my “food comfort zone”, otherwise I would miss out an some amazing foods like I almost did at Cafe Kacao. On the outside this restaurant doesn’t look like much but there food is unlike anything I have ever tasted. Cafe Kacao is home to some of the best Guatemalan food around. The oatmeal is the BEST. We visited during breakfast and our whole group ordered something different and no one was disappointed. TIP: Try the Nutella Cappuccino.
Waffle Champion
Do you love waffles? Of course you do, everyone loves waffles. But what if I told you there was a place you could go and get just about any topping on top of a homemade crispy waffle? Yes, it exists at Waffle Champion located in midtown OKC. Waffle Champion actually used to be a food truck but it was so popular in OKC that they had to expand into a restaurant to serve all those hungry waffle lovers. My waffle of choice, Nutella, Peanut Butter and Cream Cheese frosting. Trust me, it’s amazing. Tip: Get their early! The lines tend to get long quick, especially on the weekends.
These five places are just a few of the many delicious places to eat while your in Oklahoma City. If you have been to the OKC area, what’s your favorite place to eat?
