Both of my kids have been back in school for a little over week. It’s sad to not have them here at home with me, but it’s nice to see them back at school and learning. This year is a big year for both of my kids as they are entering different grades and different expectations. For instance, my son just entered the 6th grade and is taking pre-AP Literature. There recommendation for how many books to read this year is a minimum of 40! That means that we have a lot of trips to the bookstore in our near future. This past weekend we made our first trip to Barnes & Noble and picked up a few books for both my son and daughter using my Barnes & Noble MasterCard.

Barnes & Noble MasterCard is the best credit card for parents and college students purchasing textbooks, books, and supplies during the back-to-school season and beyond. The reason why is that you get  5% back when you use your Barnes & Noble MasterCard to buy school supplies and textbooks at any Barnes & Noble store or at BN.com. This savings also applies at campus Barnes & Noble bookstores. 5% savings adds up quick, especially when you have a lot of books on your list to get like we do.

According to the The College Board’s Trends in College Pricing Report, last year the average cost for books and supplies for public colleges was $1,225 and $1,244 at private colleges. If these students and parents were to have purchased this books and supplies at campus Barnes & Noble bookstores or at BN.com they could have gotten an immediate savings of $60!
