With Aubrey turning 3 in a few days it’s got me really thinking about how fast these few years have gone by. It really makes me sad to think that my kids will be grown up and on their own before I know it. When I graduated high school my mom bought me a hope chest that I still have in my bedroom. I use to have all of my special high school memories tucked away, but those have since been replaced with my kids first shoes, blankets and other things.

I really want to get Aubrey something that she can cherish forever and that will remind her of me when I am gone. I was thinking of something much smaller than a hope chest maybe a music box? I know she is only 3 so I’m not sure if I should get something now and tuck it away or wait till she is a little bit older and maybe give her a Christmas music box next year?

What do you guys think? What age is a good age to give a keepsake gift and what are some other types of things that a mother would give to her daughter.
