The week leading up to Halloween is a VERY busy time in our household. Between class parties, town activities and our annual family Halloween party our kids normally can fill up their treat bags to the top with candy and this is BEFORE they go out Trick-or-Treating. To help minimize the candy overload I decided that I would do something a little bit different this year. Instead of handing out a bag full of candy to each of the kids at the class parties I would make a fun gift bag filled with fun things like Trash Pack and Blingles.
In side the goodie bags I gave each boy and each girl 1 trash pack and 1 blingles package. It didn’t take long for the kids to take notice that they had something very cool inside these treat bags, and it wasn’t candy. The Trash Pack were a HUGE hit among the third grade boys. They didn’t even notice the piles of candy that filled their desks, they just wanted to see which trash pack they had got. The girls on the other hand were all opening their blingles and deciding what they were going to bling when they got home. By the end of the party most of the girls had traded their trash pack with the boys for more blingles and the boys were fine with that!
For your next class party considering filling up the treat bags with something fun like Trash Pack and Blingles! They run around $1 for each at Toys R US and it’s a great alternative than the loads of candy that the normally get. After seeing the kids faces when they each received their goodie bags I will definitely be making it a tradition to hand out something other than candy from now on.
*I was sent sample packs of Blingles and Trash Pack to pass out to all of the kids. All opinions expressed are my own.
